Retinal Detachment

This is when the retina detaches from the eye wall and leads to symptoms of vision loss and blur, floaters or flashes of light and a shadow in the peripheral vision.

Treatment is usually dependent on the cause but the largest cause comes from a tear in the retina that then would need surgery to fix to reattach the retina and treat the tear. In some situations, there is only a retinal tear that would need laser treatment or freezing treatment.
